National Geographic locates Pretoma’s Hawksbill Sea Turtle

HawksbillThe National Geographic expedition to Cocos Island has found “Georgina”, a hawksbill sea turtle that Pretoma tracked for 3 days in August before the satellite transmitter it was fitted with stopped transmitting. Now, almost a month later, the turtle was located by chance by Sylvia Earl, according to whom the turtle interacted with the expedition’s divers and showed no adverse effects of being tagged.
