On November 21 The Tico Times ran 2 articles regarding pressing marine conservation issues. “Agency Gutted After Port Protest” details the forced restructuring  of Incopesca’s board of directors and the fishing industries recent protests that included blocking a cruise ship from entering the port of Puntarenas as they argued against obeying Costa Rica’s shark finning laws. The second article, “Questionable Government Report Says Tuna Farm O.K.” details the rebirth of a formally derailed tuna farm project in Punta Banco (Golfo Dulce mouth) that seeks to fatten juvenile yellow fin tuna in cages.
